Nghiên cứu dấu vết sử dụng trên nhóm công cụ đá ghè đẽo ở các di chỉ Cụm Đồn, Hang Pông, Sập Việt (Sơn La)

This study was conducted by us based on the existing equipment of the Laboratory, along with the sample system of the Collection, Institute of Archaeology and the Sơn La Museum. With the innovation in method of treating the artifact surface with 5% KMnO₄ solution, it helps to increase the efficiency of observing use-wear, with a recognition rate 2.58 times higher than the traditional method. As a result, we have had new awareness in approaching and searching for use-wear on the stone flake tools of Cụm Đồn, Pông cave, and Sập Việt sites (Sơn La province). Although the using traces found are not many and diverse, they clearly record their existence. Tiny secondary dints within the flaked marks on the edge of the flake tools were found to show the impact on round-stemmed plant objects such as bamboo, wood, or fruits and seeds, along with mollusks such as crabs and snails. This result contributes to proving the rich activities in the ancient economic methods of Hòa Bình culture residents in general, especially gathering and hunting activities. This research result inherits from previous researches, the hypotheses proposed need to be further verified through experimental work.
